Update on the EIDL and CARES Act Purchase Protection Program (PPP):
On October 8, the U.S. Small Business Administration, in consultation with the Treasury Department, released a simpler loan forgiveness application for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans of $50,000 or less. This action streamlines the PPP forgiveness
process to provide financial and administrative relief to America’s smallest businesses while also ensuring sound stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
The Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act (PPPFA) was signed into law on June 5th extending both the time period to use PPP loan funds and the repayment terms. PPPFA also pushes back the June 30 Deadline to rehire workers to December 31, 2020, and eases the rehire requirements. See PPPFA for an overview. For additional PPP info, see FAQ, Loan Amount Calculation and Participating Lenders.
